Make it seven blowout wins for the Clopton Hawks this season. They breezed by Van-Far at home to the tune of 74-39 on Tuesday. The win was familiar territory for Clopton who now have three in a row.
Clopton's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Charleigh Spoonster, who scored 19 points along with five assists and two steals. Spoonster has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Skylar Parker, who scored seven points along with six assists and six steals.
Van-Far's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Elliott Utterback, who scored 14 points. Chloe Zumwalt was another key contributor, scoring four points along with two steals.
Van-Far struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They are winless (0-4) when they can't control their own glass like that.
Clopton has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Van-Far, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-13.
