The Dunellen Destroyers lost to the Highland Park Owls back in January of 2023, but the Dunellen Destroyers didn't allow the Highland Park Owls the same satisfaction on Wednesday. Dunellen secured a 51-45 W over Highland Park.
Dunellen's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ryan Hutchins led the charge by scoring 18 points along with four steals. Those four steals set a new season-high mark for him. Jamael Davis was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.
Dunellen's win ended a eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-5. As for Highland Park, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.
Dunellen will look to defend their home court on Friday against Perth Amboy Vo-Tech at 5:30 p.m. As for Highland Park, they will head out on the road to face off against South Amboy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
