Nick Holmes and Blake Graham provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Jefferson County North. The longest such play in Northeast Kansas this season, the connection resulted in 62 yards.
Pleasant Ridge's Holmes recorded the longest rushing play in the league this season in his game against the Chargers last week. Holmes ran for 63 yards on the play and finished with 157 on the day as his team topped Jefferson County North.
Horton's dynamic duo of Derrick Stone and Dakota Bayles proved tough for Atchison County to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Stone threw for 197 yards and 2 touchdowns and Bayles had 93 yards receiving. Trey Dishon helped Horton's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 37 yards.
The Chargers' dynamic duo of Stone and Bayles proved to be unstoppable against the Tigers, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Bayles was the best receiver in the league this week as Horton beat Atchison County.
Holmes was the most successful running back in Northeast Kansas this week. Graham also contributed to the rushing game with 77 yards on the ground.
Derek Richardson made the biggest impact on defense this week as Nick Dowell's team topped Blake Alexander's team. The 5-foot-8 defensive back nabbed 2 interceptions.
He went 12-22 with 0 interceptions.
Stone put up the best numbers in passing as the Chargers beat the Tigers.
Horton's Stone and Bayles have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-10 quarterback Stone has thrown for 373 yards this season, while Bayles has 7 catches for 150 yards. Pleasant Ridge's Holmes leads the league in rushing yards with 281.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Oskaloosa takes on Pat McCollim's team. At the moment, the Bears are in third, while the Rams are in second.
Jackson Heights moved up to 123 from 150 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Cobras climbed the ranks as a result of topping Oskaloosa 56-6.
