The Callisburg Wildcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Pilot Point Bearcats at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Callisburg and 17 for the Bearcats.
Last Tuesday, Callisburg was beaten by the Lions 71-13. While losing is never fun, Callisburg can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1227th, while the Lions are ranked 368th).
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 86-23, which was the final score in Pilot Point's tilt against the Panthers on Tuesday. Pilot Point has struggled against the Panthers recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Callisburg has not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-22 record this season. As for Pilot Point, their loss was their 23rd straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-24.
Callisburg didn't have too much breathing room in their game against the Bearcats in their previous matchup back in January, but they still walked away with a 37-31 win. Will Callisburg repeat their success, or do the Bearcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
