Amsterdam had lost six straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Monday they dropped down to 1-2 to make it seven. They lost 10-3 to the Broadalbin-Perth Patriots. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-5 on Thursday.
Amsterdam saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was John Miller, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.
As for Broadalbin-Perth, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 8 runs this season.
On Broadalbin-Perth's side, Mike Eglin made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits. Eglin was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
In other pitching news, Conner Karp looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2025.
Back at the plate, Noah Russo was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Maddox Nichani was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Amsterdam didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 7-5 win against Glens Falls on the 8th. As for Broadalbin-Perth, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 7-4 loss against Hudson Falls on the 8th.
