It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Lenoir City Panthers can now relate to. They suffered a rough 37-11 defeat at the hands of Walker Valley on Friday. Lenoir City gained 101 more yards on the day, but it was Walker Valley that made the best of use of them.
Trey Wilhite threw for 172 yards on 15 of 23 attempts. Keller Cooper was his top target, picking up 103 receiving yards.
It was another big night for Evan Schwarzl, who rushed for 78 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries, and also threw for 146 yards and two touchdowns.
Lenoir City's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Walker Valley, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-2.
Lenoir City does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Walker Valley will head out on the road to face off against Clinton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Clinton is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.
