The SouthWest Edgecombe Cougars posted their biggest win yet this season on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 67-13 win over Tarboro on the road. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 47-6.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead SouthWest Edgecombe to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kd Collins, who scored 18 points along with seven assists and four steals. Collins is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last nine games she's played. Another player making a difference was Mackenzie Moore, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
SouthWest Edgecombe is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. As for Tarboro, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.
SouthWest Edgecombe will be playing at home against Nash Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Nash Central is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for Tarboro, they will head out on the road to square off against Washington County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Washington County is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
