The Pius X Thunderbolts will head out on the road to take on the Lincoln North Star Navigators at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Pius X's hitters haven't had much luck over their past three games, but Thursday's match will give them a chance to turn things around.
Pius X took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against Lincoln Northeast, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Thunderbolts' pitcher stepped up to hand the Rockets a 1-0 shutout on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Thunderbolts have posted against the Rockets since April 4, 2017.

The result came thanks to Kaleb Ledgerwood's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Pius X's victory was truly a team effort as two different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jesus Yanez, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Yanez also put up a double, which was his first of the season.
Meanwhile, it was a classic North v. South duel when Lincoln North Star duked it out with Lincoln Southwest on Tuesday. The Navigators came out on top against the Silver Hawks by a score of 12-7. The game was the first time the Navigators have beaten the Silver Hawks on their field since April 10, 2019.
Sam Schaefer was incredible, scoring three runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Kaden Klein was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
Lincoln North Star kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2024.
Lincoln North Star's win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-2. As for Pius X, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-6.
Pius X couldn't quite finish off Lincoln North Star in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 and fell 6-4. Can the Thunderbolts avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
