Basketball Recap: Oliviah Wilkerson Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Dublin Scioto

Worthington Kilbourne won the last time they faced Dublin Scioto and things went their way on Friday too. The Worthington Kilbourne Wolves strolled past the Dublin Scioto Irish with points to spare, taking the game 58-41. Given the Wolves' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 183rd, while the Irish are ranked 391st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Worthington Kilbourne to victory, but perhaps none more so than Oliviah Wilkerson, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten boards. What's more, Wilkerson also racked up four assists, the most she's had since back in January of 2024. Audrey Bennett was another key player, putting up 13 points in addition to eight assists and six rebounds.

Worthington Kilbourne smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in eight consecutive games.

Dublin Scioto's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kamarice Jackson, who posted 11 points along with seven boards and six steals. Another player making a difference was Lyla Magnussen, who had eight points and seven rebounds.

Worthington Kilbourne's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-4. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.7 points per game. As for Dublin Scioto, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-10.

Worthington Kilbourne wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 48-31 victory against Thomas Worthington on the 25th. Dublin Scioto has also already played their next contest, a 56-45 defeat against Washington on the 25th.
