2A-1 Region II District 6 recap September 17, 2013
Erik Richards and Chandler Brown provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Lone Oak. The longest such play in 2A-1 Region II District 6 this season, the connection resulted in 73 yards.
Van Alstyne moved up to 555 from 724 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Panthers climbed the ranks as a result of beating Anna 35-14.
Sunnyvale's dynamic duo of Ryan Cottingame and Josh Quinn proved tough for Italy to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Cottingame threw for 275 yards and 4 touchdowns and Quinn had 131 yards receiving. Dillon Paschall helped Sunnyvale's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 45 yards.

Richards was the best running back in the league this week. In 30 carries, he ran for 142 yards as Caddo Mills beat Italy. Teammate David Chandler added to the ground attack by rushing for 106 yards.

Cottingame put up the best numbers in passing as Sunnyvale bested Charles Tindol's team.
Richards was a passing and rushing force as the Foxes fell to the Buffaloes. Richards' favorite target this week was Brown, who caught 2 passes for 81 yards.
Darren Pennington made the biggest impact on defense this week as Farmersville beat Rains. The 6-foot-2 senior.
Quinn was the best wideout in 2A-1 Region II District 6 this week as Sunnyvale topped the Gladiators.
Sunnyvale's Cottingame and Quinn have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-4 quarterback Cottingame has thrown for 878 yards this season, while Quinn has 17 catches for 302 yards. Caddo Mills' Richards leads the league in rushing yards with 433.
Commerce fell to Princeton 42-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. D'Lance Sharp was a bright spot for the Tigers, as he caught 1 passes for 15 yards in the loss.
