The Cross Trojans will head out on the road to face off against the Timberland Wolves at 8:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Cross' favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
Cross pushed their score all the way to 56 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They lost to Lake Marion on the road by a decisive 74-56 margin. The loss was Cross' first of the season.
The losing side was boosted by Dominick Lampkin, who scored 14 points along with 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Micah Flute, who scored 7 points along with 9 rebounds.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Timberland, who are still winless after their fifth contest. They took a 54-38 bruising from Berkeley on Friday. Timberland has not had much luck with Berkeley recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
The opposite results left the teams with opposite records: Lake Marion's victory pushed their record up to 1-4, while Cross' loss dropped theirs down to 4-1.
Everything came up roses for Cross against Timberland in their previous matchup last Friday as the team secured a 86-51 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cross since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
