The Webber Trojans's game last Monday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They came out on top against Elverado/Zeigler-Royalton by a score of 39-31. That's another feather in the cap for Webber, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Webber's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Chloe King, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Shayla Brumley was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with three steals.
Elverado/Zeigler-Royalton lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ashlyn Stayton, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 16 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Brylee Martin, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Even though they lost, Elverado/Zeigler-Royalton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Webber only pulled down seven offensive rebounds.
Webber's win ended a 17-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-22. As for Elverado/Zeigler-Royalton, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-21.
Webber will be playing in front of their home fans against the Blackhawks at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Elverado/Zeigler-Royalton, they will head out on the road to take on the Red Devils at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
