Ridge Point has gone a perfect 8-0 against Fort Bend Hightower recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Ridge Point Panthers are taking a road trip to face off against the Fort Bend Hightower Hurricanes at 6:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Ridge Point sitting on four straight wins and Fort Bend Hightower on six.
Ridge Point's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed two weeks ago. They didn't even let Fort Bend Bush on the board, marking Ridge Point's second-straight 10-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won seven matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.
Braelyn Daniels and Ali Johnson did most of the damage at the plate: Daniels went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Johnson scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most RBI Daniels has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Corrine Collins, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
They weren't the only ones working in the hit department: Ridge Point kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Fort Bend Hightower hadn't done well against Fort Bend Austin recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Fort Bend Hightower walked away with a 9-5 victory over Fort Bend Austin.
Bailie Holts spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five runs (all of which were unearned) on ten hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Kourtney Jones-Caldwell was a standout: she scored two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Amiyah Lee was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Fort Bend Hightower's win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-1-2. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Ridge Point, their record now sits at 10-2.
Ridge Point took their victory against Fort Bend Hightower in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 19-1. Does Ridge Point have another victory up their sleeve, or will Fort Bend Hightower turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
