The Buckeye Bucks will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Lakewood Rangers at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Buckeye posted their closest victory yet this season on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Firelands and snuck past 59-57.
Meanwhile, Lakewood was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 61-56 to Westlake. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Lakewood came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 173rd, while Westlake is ranked 493rd).
Buckeye's win bumped their record up to 2-10. As for Lakewood, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-5.
Buckeye suffered a grim 68-42 defeat to Lakewood in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Buckeye was down 41-20.
