Hilton Head Island's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Deja Godsun, who scored nine points along with six assists and three steals, and Amaya Wroten who scored 16 points along with six rebounds. Leah Jackson was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Blue Ridge had a senior duo take command as Helena danielle Earley scored 25 points along with seven rebounds and Zikira henderson scored 21 points. The game was Earley's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Claire Skinner, who scored eight points.
Hilton Head Island has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for Blue Ridge, their win bumped their record up to 12-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hilton Head Island will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Hilton Head Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 4th.
