The Defiance Bulldogs will face off against the Fort Wayne Snider Panthers at 12:15 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Defiance comes in on 20 and Fort Wayne Snider on four.
Defiance proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by 11) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out St. John's Jesuit 6-4.

Cody Shaw was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up four earned runs off five hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, Noah Gomez was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted over his last 11 games.
Meanwhile, Fort Wayne Snider made easy work of Fort Wayne South Side on Thursday and carried off a 14-1 victory. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matches by six runs or more this season.
Like Defiance, Fort Wayne Snider also got a great game from a two-way player: Landen Fry. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Fry has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season.
In other pitching news, Zack Schaller looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Fort Wayne Snider got a massive performance out of Brandon Logan, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with five stolen bases and three runs. Logan has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Snavely, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Fort Wayne Snider always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .595. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fort Wayne South Side only posted an OBP of .176.
Fort Wayne Snider's win bumped their record up to 17-4. As for Defiance, their victory was their 11th straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-0.
Saturday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Defiance has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .452. However, it's not like Fort Wayne Snider struggles in that department as they've averaged .493. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
