Overbrook has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the West Philadelphia Speedboys at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Overbrook has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Overbrook walked away with it. They claimed a resounding 67-29 win over the at home.
Overbrook relied on the efforts of Nasir Kelly, who scored 15 points along with five assists and five rebounds, and Omar Davis, who scored 20 points along with three steals. Davis hasn't dropped below 20 points for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Shafir Hall, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, even though George Washington scored an imposing 57 points on Thursday, West Philadelphia still came out on top. West Philadelphia strolled past George Washington with points to spare, taking the game 72-57.
Overbrook now has a winning record of 12-11. As for West Philadelphia, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-12 record this season.
Overbrook came up short against West Philadelphia in their previous meeting last Tuesday, falling 66-58. Can Overbrook avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
