Western Indiana recap September 17, 2013
Brown County moved up to 236 from 265 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Western Indiana. The Eagles climbed the ranks as a result of beating South Vermillion 42-13.
West Vigo fell to Linton-Stockton 45-14 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Sullivan's dynamic duo of Michael Willis and Jake Kinnaman proved tough for Northview to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Willis threw for 268 yards and 2 touchdowns and Kinnaman had 125 yards receiving. Michael Hutchcraft helped Sullivan's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 91 yards.
The Golden Arrows' dynamic duo of Willis and Kinnaman proved to be unstoppable against the Knights, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Kinnaman was the best receiver in the league this week as Sullivan lost to Northview.
Willis put up the best numbers through the air as Trent Olson's team fell to Mark Raetz's team.
He was 16-28 with 1 interceptions.
Jordan Branz was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 15 carries, he ran for 110 yards as the Wildcats lost to the Knights. Teammate Adam Crouch added to the ground attack by rushing for 14 yards.
Sullivan's Willis and Kinnaman have formed a dream team this season, leading Western Indiana in both passing and receiving yards. 6-1 quarterback Willis has thrown for 756 yards this season, while Kinnaman has 15 catches for 323 yards. South Vermillion's Branz leads the league in rushing yards with 274.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Owen Valley takes on second place Northview.
Brown County led the league in scoring this week by notching 42 points on Chuck Sorrell's team.
