Little Kanawha recap Sept. 26, 2012
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Roane County, who took down 47th ranked Braxton County, 31-6.
Williamstown was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from eighth to third in Little Kanawha. Earlier in the week, the Yellowjackets defeated Ravenswood 23-7.
Doddridge County's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. David Lipscomb threw for 188 and one touchdown and Daniel Plaugher had 97 yards receiving. On the ground Wyatt Ford chipped in 60 yards. Jarrod Sandy helped Doddridge County's passing attack out by catching one ball for 79 yards.
Doddridge County's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Bulldogs feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Lipscomb has thrown for 452 yards and six touchdowns this season, while Plaugher has 12 catches for 221 yards. Ford leads the league in rushing with 544 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Williamstown takes on St. Marys. At the moment, Terry Smith's team is in third, while the Blue Devils are in second.
Wirt County extended the longest winning streak in Little Kanawha this week by beating Parkersburg Catholic, 35-6. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
