Softball Recap: Ezekiel Academy Snags 12th Win in Last 13 Games

Ezekiel Academy got themselves on the board against Chambers Academy on Friday, but Chambers Academy never followed suit. They were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over the Rebels. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won 15 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Addie Newell was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-2. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in March. Lauryn Darnell was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Ezekiel Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Chambers Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-2.

Coming up, Ezekiel Academy will face off against South Choctaw Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Chambers Academy, they will venture away from home to take on Coosa Valley Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Coosa Valley Academy has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.2 runs per game on average), something Chambers Academy will no doubt try to take advantage of.
