Taunton is 8-2 against Milford since December of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Taunton Tigers will head out on the road to take on the Milford Scarlet Hawks at 6:45 p.m. Taunton has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,177 points over their last 17 matchups.
Taunton pushed their score all the way to 59 last Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 63-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of Franklin. While losing is never fun, Taunton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 44th, while Franklin is ranked fifth).
Meanwhile, Milford pushed their score all the way to 67 on Sunday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 77-67 hit to the loss column at the hands of Archbishop Williams.
Despite the defeat, Milford had strong showings from Andrew Rivera, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds, and CJ Farrell, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds. Rivera is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 17 or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Luca Testa, who scored 11 points.
Taunton's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-5. As for Milford, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-9.
Taunton came up short against Milford in their previous meeting back in January, falling 81-73. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Rivera, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 15 rebounds.
