Even though the Inlet Grove Hurricanes scored an imposing 55 points on Monday, the Pine Crest Panthers still came out on top. Pine Crest strolled past Inlet Grove with points to spare, taking the game 72-55. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Pine Crest.
Pine Crest found their leader in underclassman Rowan Hoffman, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and 17 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Hoffman has scored at least a third of Pine Crest's points. Diego Garcia-Alcala was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Despite the defeat, Inlet Grove saw an underclassman step up: Robert Brown scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. That was a full 36.4% of Inlet Grove's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Jorden Black, who scored nine points along with four steals.
Even though they lost, Inlet Grove smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Pine Crest's win bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Inlet Grove, they dropped their record down to 10-8 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.
