Jacksonville has been on the road for three straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Havelock Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Jacksonville's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matchups.
In what's become a running theme this season, Jacksonville gave their fans yet another huge win on Wednesday. They really took it to New Bern for the full four quarters, racking up a 66-36 win on the road. With Jacksonville ahead 46-16 at the half, the match was all but over already.
It was another big night for Kelize Velez-Galan, who scored 23 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Ama Baldwin was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Havelock ended up a good deal behind the Vikings on Friday and lost 53-36. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Havelock in their matchups with the Vikings: they've now lost seven in a row.
Jacksonville pushed their record up to 14-3 with that win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points per game. As for Havelock, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season.
Jacksonville beat the Rams 56-43 when the teams last played back in January of 2023. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Havelock's Shania Hurd, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 14 rebounds. Now that she won't be playing on Tuesday, will it be that much easier for Jacksonville to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
