Hudson and Nordonia are an even 5-5 against one another since September of 2020, but not for long. The Explorers will challenge the Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
On Thursday, Hudson didn't have quite enough to beat Brecksville-Broadview Heights and fell 3-2.
Hudson actually scored more points across those five sets (109-101), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 25-23, 27-25, 21-25, 13-25, 15-11.
Hudson might have lost, but man, Lani Slater was a machine: she had 28 digs and four aces.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Nordonia, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out Austintown-Fitch 3-2 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Knights have posted since August 26th.
Nordonia had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 21-25, 25-20, 25-15, 15-7.
Nordonia has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season. As for Hudson, their loss dropped their record down to 11-9.
Hudson couldn't quite get it done against Nordonia in their previous matchup back in September as they fell 3-1. Can the Explorers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
