The Milton-Union Bulldogs will finish 2023 at home by hosting the Newton Local Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Milton-Union unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a hard 46-30 fall against Covington.
Despite their defeat, Milton-Union saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Jenna Brumbaugh, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Brumbaugh scored a full 46.7% of Milton-Union's points, the eighth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Shannon Brumbaugh, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Newton Local took a serious blow against Tri-Village on Thursday, falling 59-26. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Newton Local has scored all season.
Milton-Union's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-2. As for Newton Local, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.
Milton-Union was able to grind out a solid win over Newton Local in their previous matchup back in February, winning 46-37. Does Milton-Union have another victory up their sleeve, or will Newton Local turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
