Severance and Northridge are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2021, but likely not for long. The Silver Knights will welcome the Grizzlies at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Severance will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
Severance's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by an 18-0 margin over Greeley Central. The Silver Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by six runs or more this season.

Brady Iversen made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Colton Matthews, who went 3-for-4 with three doubles, four RBI, and one run. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Dom Torres was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Severance kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Northridge). Everything went their way against Hinkley on Monday as they made off with an 18-3 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Grizzlies needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.
Like Severance, Northridge also got a great game from a two-way player: Ruger Lancaster. He struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits (and only one walk). Lancaster was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season.
In other batting news, Cole Barber was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, two stolen bases, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Alejandro Vargas, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI and two runs.
Northridge's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-13. As for Severance, their victory bumped their record up to 12-5.
Northridge's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Severance has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.4 hits per game. It's a different story for Northridge, though, as they've been averaging 9.6 hits. Given Severance's sizable advantage in that area, the Grizzlies will need to find a way to close that gap.
Severance got the 'W' when the teams last played back in March against Northridge by a conclusive 20-0 score. Will the Silver Knights repeat their success, or do the Grizzlies have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
