Logan Hicks Sets Career High in Rushing Yards
Starting off the list is Columbia's Logan Hicks, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. On Friday Hicks rushed for 130 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries, and also picked up 53 receiving yards, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. His longest rush was for an impressive 56 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.
The win was the third in a row for Columbia, bringing their record for this year to 5-2. Hicks and Columbia will venture away from home to challenge Breese Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

On Friday, Columbia got the W thanks in part to Jase Nelson playing the best football he has all season. Nelson rushed for 173 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.7 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process.

Griffen Becker's big game helped extend Breese Central's winning streak to seven on Friday. Roxana had no answer to Becker as he made 15 total tackles.
Breese Central's win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-0. Becker and Breese Central will welcome Columbia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Kaden Rakers Delivers Electric Performance Vs Roxana
Kaden Rakers was instrumental in extending Breese Central's winning streak to seven on Friday. Rakers did his part (and then some), rushing for 107 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries, while also throwing for 41 yards and a touchdown for the 'W'. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in October of 2023.
If the past is any indication, Rakers could be in store for another big game when he takes on Columbia on Friday. Rakers rushed for 175 yards and three touchdowns, and also picked up 62 receiving yards the last time he and the Eagles duked it out back in October of 2023.

John Higgins Delivers Best Effort of Season
John Higgins produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Freeburg to the win on Friday. Higgins rushed for 59 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries, and also picked up 108 receiving yards.
With the victory, Freeburg broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-5. Higgins and Freeburg will face off against Salem at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
