The Ribault Trojans's game on Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They managed a 49-43 win over Mandarin. For Ribault, this counts as revenge for the 54-48 loss Mandarin walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ribault to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kayla Massey, who scored 16 points along with six steals. Massey set a new season high mark in steals with six. Another player making a difference was Nyeemah Dixon, who scored nine points along with ten rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Mandarin lost, one person who can't be blamed is Nykeria Thomas. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds. The contest was Thomas' fourth in a row with at least ten points. Mia Chandler was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with 12 rebounds and five blocks.
Ribault's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Mandarin, their loss dropped their record down to 5-1.
Ribault will head out on the road to face off against Raines at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Mandarin won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Ridgeview at 7:30 p.m. on December 12th.
