Montgomery has won five straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Montoursville has won five straight on the road also dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Saturday. The Red Raiders will welcome the Warriors at 11:00 a.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Montgomery is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Sullivan County on Wednesday as they made off with a 20-5 win. The Red Raiders haven't had any issues with the Griffins recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Montgomery let Max Furman and Parker Bennett run wild. Furman scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3, while Bennett went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those four runs gave Furman a new career-high. Ethan Hugar was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-1.
Montgomery always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .727. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Montoursville was not the first on the board on Wednesday, but they got there more often. They were the clear victors by a 15-2 margin over Central Columbia.
Montoursville also got a great performance from Logan Kirby as he struck out eight batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits (and not a single walk). Kirby has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Zack Neill was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those RBI marked the first that he brought in this season. Another player making a difference was Royce Bowes, who scored three runs while going 2-for-3.
Montgomery's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Montoursville, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Montgomery has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Montoursville struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Montgomery suffered a grim 16-0 defeat to Montoursville in their previous matchup back in May of 2021. Can the Red Raiders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
