Riverview and Sumner are an even 3-3 against one another since March of 2021, but likely not for long. The Riverview Sharks will head out on the road to square off against the Sumner Stingrays at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Riverview is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.4 runs per game this season.
While Riverview didn't have the best season last year (they finished 4-20), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They blew past Hillsborough 11-1 on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Sharks.
Brady Rebello made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one RBI.

In other batting news, Riverview let Ryan Butner and Kaden Hess run wild. Butner scored four runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3, while Hess scored a run while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance gave Butner a new career-high in runs. Justin Edwards was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Sumner was not the first on the board last Thursday, but they got there more often. They skirted past Wharton 3-2.
Sebastian Peralta was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run. That home run was his first of the season.
Sumner's victory was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-2. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Riverview, their record now sits at 4-1.
Sumner's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Riverview hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having hit 0 of their hits per game. It's a different story for Sumner, though, as they've only hit 0 of their hits this season. Will they be able to contain Riverview's hitters?
