Michael Evans put up the most strikeouts he's had since back in March of 2024 on Tuesday. He struck out ten batters over 6.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits, good enough for us to rate the performance as the best he's had all season long. He has become a key player for Port Gibson: the team is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-9 otherwise.

Evans' strong effort led Port Gibson over South Pike and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
