Lynn Classical and Danvers are an even 3-3 against one another since May of 2015, but likely not for long. The Rams will face off against the Falcons at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Lynn Classical is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.
Danvers will square off against a team with plenty of momentum: Lynn Classical extended their winning streak to three on Wednesday. The Rams blew past Chelsea 20-2. That looming 20-2 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Rams yet this season.
Braeden Ohannesian and Sam Morris made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Ohannesian tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Morris pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. At bat, Ohannesian got on base in both of his plate appearances with one run and one RBI, while Morris went 1-for-2 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Ronal Brea was a standout: he went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those RBI marked the first that he has brought in this season. The team also got some help courtesy of D Munoz, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Lynn Classical always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .676. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Danvers, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Peabody Veterans Memorial on Thursday, sneaking past 5-4.
The team relied heavily on Josh Henry, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Danvers is undefeated when Henry posts two or more stolen bases, but 2-4 otherwise. Bryce Clark was another key player, earning two RBI, one run, and one stolen base.
Danvers now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Lynn Classical, their record now sits at 6-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Lynn Classical has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Danvers struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Lynn Classical skirted past Danvers 6-4 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Falcons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
