Girard is 7-1 against Iroquois since December of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Girard Yellowjackets will head out on the road to take on the Iroquois Braves at 7:30 p.m. Girard is looking to tack on another W to their 12-game streak on the road.
Last Friday, Girard didn't have too much trouble with Seneca on the road as they won 62-46. Given Girard's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 96th, while Seneca is ranked 509th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Even though Iroquois has not done well against Northwestern recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Iroquois walked away with a 56-45 win over Northwestern. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Iroquois.
Orlando Brown was his usual excellent self, scoring nine points along with six steals and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kellen Burroughs, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds.
Girard's victory bumped their record up to 13-1. As for Iroquois, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.
Girard took their win against Iroquois in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 by a conclusive 67-42. Will Girard repeat their success, or does Iroquois have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
