It was a good run, but Community Leadership Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a hard 64-50 fall against the Munroe Bobcats. The Lions were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bobcats earlier this season, when they won 60-58.
Community Leadership Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Owen Brown, who went 6 for 11 on his way to 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bowman Holloway, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 boards.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Munroe to victory, but perhaps none more so than Zelden Chukes, who posted eight points in addition to seven boards and five steals. Chukes has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Zy Reese, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 11 points and eight rebounds.
Community Leadership Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Munroe, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-5.
Community Leadership Academy will head out to face off against Tallavana Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Tallavana Christian has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 183 points over their last three contests. As for Munroe, they will host Sneads at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
