Baseline recap October 29, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in Baseline this week, Rancho Cucamonga beat Los Osos 20-16. The victory was the eighth in a row for the Cougars.
Upland took down Alta Loma 45-20 last week, the largest margin of any game. Tyler Hilinski threw for 304 yards and 3 touchdowns during the win.
Darryn Ratliff provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Etiwanda topped Glendora. He completed 16 passes for 296 yards and 3 touchdowns and also ran for 144 yards. Ratliff's favorite target this week was Kempson Pearce, who caught 6 passes for 124 yards.
Trevor Wright was the best wideout in the league this week as the Highlanders/Scots defeated the Braves. Wright tallied 5 receptions for 137 yards. Marquis Wimberly helped Upland's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 95 yards.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Upland's Hilinski and Wright have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-4 quarterback Hilinski has thrown for 2,001 yards this season, while Wright has 52 catches for 1,036 yards. Marcellus Hunter from Alta Loma leads the league in rushing with 804 yards.
A big matchup in Baseline this week will be when Rancho Cucamonga takes on Joe Szczepanski's team. Nick Baiz's team is currently in first, while the Braves are in sixth.
Tim Salter's team led the league in scoring this week after putting up 45 points on Alta Loma. Hilinski in the win.
