Baseball Recap: Clinton Extends Winning Streak to Two

Clinton won the last time they faced Maynard and things went their way on Friday too. The Gaels never let the Tigers get on the board and left with a 9-0 win. Considering the Gaels have won five matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The result came thanks to Braydan Huban's shutout, as he gave up just five hits.

At the plate, Clinton got a massive performance out of Josh Nelson, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Brian Silvester, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

The victory made it two in a row for Clinton and bumps their season record up to 6-3. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Maynard, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 8-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clinton will venture away from home to square off against Lunenburg at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Maynard, they will head out to take on Bromfield at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
