Madison Coleman made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and fired off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-3. Those RBI were her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Parker Stevens, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Russell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of Skyview.
Georgia Hatzenbeller and Kaylei Schultz-Palagi stepped up to the plate in a big way. Hatzenbeller went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Schultz-Palagi went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two doubles. The team also got some help courtesy of Ruby Dean, who scored a run while going 3-for-3.
Russell's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Gallatin, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.
Russell's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Gallatin has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.2 hits per game. It's a different story for Russell, though, as they've been averaging 10.5 hits. Given Gallatin's sizable advantage in that area, the Rustlers will need to find a way to close that gap.
