Maize South waltzed into their game on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They put the hurt on the Arkansas City Bulldogs with a sharp 11-1 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 on Friday.

Maize South pushed their record up to 5-1-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Arkansas City, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Maize South will venture away from home to take on Goddard on Tuesday. The Mavericks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lions have averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season. As for Arkansas City, they will head out to challenge Salina Central at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
