The Iroquois Braves had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They took a 52-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Fort LeBoeuf. Iroquois lost against Fort LeBoeuf in their previous head to head back in February of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 74-62 score last time.
Iroquois' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kellen Burroughs, who scored 13 points along with 8 rebounds. Orlando Brown was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Iroquois' defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Fort LeBoeuf, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Iroquois will square off against Union City at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Fort LeBoeuf, they will head out on the road to face off against Seneca at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
