The Pittsburg Pirates waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with 11 straight wins but they left with 12. They had just enough and edged Liberty out 2-1. Two seems to be a good number for Pittsburg as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of goals in their previous game.
They were led to victory by the tag-team duo of
Adrian Garcia and
Jesus Lua Amaya, who scored both of Pittsburg's goals. The pair have combined for a total of 14 so far this season.
Pittsburg pushed their record up to 17-1-2 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 23 goals over those six matchups. As for Liberty, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-4-2.
Pittsburg didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win vs. Antioch on the 9th. Liberty has also already played their next matchup, a 1-1 draw against Heritage on the 9th.
