There's no place like home for the Buchholz Bobcats, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Wednesday. They came out on top against P.K. Yonge by a score of 45-34 on Monday. This was payback for Buchholz, who suffered a 65-63 loss the last time these two teams met.
Buchholz's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jamison Cardwell, who scored 17 points. Another player making a difference was Taylor Booth, who scored 12 points.
Several Blue Wave players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ashlyn Young, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. The game was Young's third in a row with at least ten points. Jorryn Dye was another key contributor, scoring four points along with 12 rebounds and three steals.
Even though they lost, P.K. Yonge were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
The victory got Buchholz back to even at 4-4. As for P.K. Yonge, they bumped their record down to 4-3 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Buchholz won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Eastside at 7:30 p.m. on December 12th.
