Argos and LaVille are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2015, but likely not for long. The Dragons will be playing at home against the Lancers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Argos' favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while LaVille has been banged up by ten consecutive losses on the road also dating back to last season.
11 must be Argos' lucky number: they beat River Forest with that score not once but twice on Saturday. The Dragons beat the Ingots by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 11-1. The win continues a trend for the Dragons in their matchups with the Ingots: they've now won six in a row.
Adelyn Lewark and Ella Dean were major factors no matter where they played. Throwing, Lewark tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Dean tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (five). At bat, Lewark went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Dean earned one run and two stolen bases. Lewark also hit a double, marking her first of the season.
In other batting news, Ava Stackhouse was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ivy Stackhouse, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base.
Argos was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, LaVille fell victim to Jimtown and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Jimmies, falling 27-0. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Lancers were not able to get on the board.
LaVille saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Petyon Tubicsak, who went 1-for-2 with one double.
Argos' victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for LaVille, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.
Everything went Argos' way against LaVille when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Argos made off with an 18-2 win. Do the Dragons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lancers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
