Last Tuesday, West Marion lost to Purvis at home by a decisive 58-43 margin. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for West Marion in their matchups with Purvis: they've now lost five in a row.
Meanwhile, East Marion's 19-5 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They took a 62-45 bruising from Jefferson Davis County on Tuesday. East Marion has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Donny Anderson, who scored 14 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Mingo, who scored 9 points along with 5 rebounds.
West Marion bumped their record down to 1-4 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for East Marion, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
