Even though they lost, Rabun County was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 281 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Athens Academy only rushed for 143.
A big part of Athens Academy's victory came down to the chemistry between Hampton Johnson and his top target Keyon Standifer. Johnson threw for 300 yards and five touchdowns on only 18 passes while Standifer picked up 170 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Standifer's longest reception was for an impressive 68 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per catch total. A healthy portion of Johnson's aerial production (93 yards to be exact) also went to Kj Whitehead, who also brought in two receiving touchdowns.
Rabun County's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Athens Academy, the win for them keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
