The Vardaman Rams will head out on the road to take on the East Webster Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
16 must be Vardaman's lucky number: they beat West Tallahatchie with that score not once but twice on Tuesday. The Rams never let the Choctaws get on the board and left with a 16-0 win. Winning may never get old, but the Rams sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Landon Love was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Love was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Grant Parker was a standout: he got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs and one RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Cooper Easley was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.
Vardaman always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .792. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
East Webster came out on top against Kemper County on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run third inning. The Wolverines were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over the Wildcats. The Wolverines haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Cayden Daily made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Daily was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, East Webster got a big performance out of Colton Kirkman, who went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and two runs. Another player making a difference was Brody Gerrish, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs.
Vardaman's record now sits at 9-1. As for East Webster, their record is now 12-5.
Thursday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Vardaman has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .572. However, it's not like East Webster struggles in that department as they've averaged .474. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Vardaman might still be hurting after the 11-1 defeat they got from East Webster when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can the Rams avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
