Softball Recap: Princeton Wins Going Away Against Beddingfield

Princeton got themselves on the board against Beddingfield on Thursday, but Beddingfield never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 16-0 margin over the Bruins. The win continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Bruins: they've now won eight in a row.

Mary Rachel Uzzell made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Princeton got a massive performance out of Khloe Jones, who scored three runs and stole five bases while going 2-for-3. With that strong performance, Jones is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game. Caroline Waller was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Princeton now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Beddingfield, they dropped their record down to 1-6 with the loss, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Princeton will challenge rival North Johnston at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Beddingfield is set to square off against their familiar foe Spring Creek at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
