Quincy Notre Dame proved they can win big last Monday (they won by 14) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Pittsfield Saukees, sneaking past 12-10. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Saukees recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Abram Wiewel was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run and two runs. He is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as he's now launched at least one in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Sutton, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Wiewel wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Quincy Notre Dame lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Quincy Notre Dame's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-4. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Pittsfield, their defeat ended a 21-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 12-3.

Coming up, Quincy Notre Dame will welcome Rochester at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Pittsfield, they are taking a road trip to square off against Quincy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Blue Devils will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Saukees surely won't give up without a fight.
