After a string of ten wins, the Madison Dodgers's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell to Jefferson Township 41-35. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Madison has scored all season.
Kiley Shatzel was nothing short of spectacular for Jefferson Township: she almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Cassidy Ball, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Madison's defeat dropped their record down to 16-3. As for Jefferson Township, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season.
Madison is on the road again on Monday and plays the Big Blue at 4:15 p.m. on February 5th. The Pingry School is on a eight-game streak of home wins, the Dodgers a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Jefferson Township will take on the Spartans at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Sparta will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New Jersey Rankings (they are ranked 146th, while the Falcons are ranked 31st).
