After flying high against the Ballard Bulldogs on Monday, the Bronaugh Wildcats came back down to earth. Bronaugh fell 57-47 to Varsity Opponent on Wednesday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Bronaugh in their matchups with Varsity Opponent: they've now lost three in a row.
Bronaugh lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Strauss Banes, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Luke Bowling was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Bronaugh's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Varsity Opponent, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 144-528-5.
Bronaugh will be home for the holidays to greet Hume at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Varsity Opponent, they will head out on the road to face off against Hillcrest Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Hillcrest Prep's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 17 games.
