The South Lenoir Blue Devils's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight defeat. They had to suffer through a rough 54-11 loss at the hands of East Duplin. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points South Lenoir has scored all season.
East Duplin found their leader in underclassman Kinsey Cave, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine assists. Cave also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Zakoya Farrior was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
South Lenoir has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season. As for East Duplin, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 19-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Lenoir will challenge North Lenoir at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in North Lenoir's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while South Lenoir has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road. As for East Duplin, they will take on Wallace-Rose Hill at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing isn't great for Wallace-Rose Hill: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while East Duplin has snatched up seven consecutive wins on the road.
